Services in
Your Community
We have programs throughout the state that help individuals of all abilities build increasingly rich, independent lives in the communities they call home.
In-home Family Therapy
At Indiana MENTOR, we understand that children and their families can be involved and compliant with therapy services without being truly engaged. Engagement involves motivating and empowering families to recognize their own needs, strengths and resources, and to take an active role in mapping a positive new path for their lives.
That’s why we offer our in-home therapy services, which are both strength- and needs-based. Our program staff uses these strategies to increase participation of both the children and the rest of their families, so that all individuals are striving for the same goals.
Keeping Families Together
Our program is designed to prevent out-of-home placement—such as foster care. After an initial assessment of the family, we work to establish goals around:
- The child and family’s strengths
- Adaptive behaviors
- Family dynamics
- Practical skills
- Necessary resources
From that initial assessment, a Family Service Plan (FSP) is created with input from the youth, family, and Department of Child Services, outlining the short- and long-term goals and objectives.
On-going Support
Our in-home therapist and/or caseworker provide youth and families with necessary therapy, assistance, and skills training. We continually monitor the progression of family and child safety, risk level and functioning. Each family also has access to 24-hour emergency crisis assistance if necessary.
