Behavioral Support Services
At Indiana MENTOR, we want people of all abilities to have access to the supports they need to be successful. In our Behavioral Support Services, we work with adults and children in various settings, using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help them develop new skills and increase independence. Those settings can include group homes, supported living residences, family homes, schools and Autism clinics.
Applied Behavior Analysis
Applied Behavior Analysis is increasingly recognized as an effective method for shaping and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—including those with autism. At Indiana MENTOR we use a holistic approach, working with individuals as well as other professional caregivers and members of an individual’s support team. Collectively, we work to ensure that adults and children are able to learn behavior modification strategies that help them be more successful.
We support adults and children of all abilities and develop services based on each individual’s unique needs and skills. For individuals who require support with daily living activities, our services are designed to help them learn skills such as:
Our skilled staff includes professionals with master’s- and doctorate-level training in applied behavior analysis, as well as counseling, clinical psychology, social work and special education. They may also focus on helping individuals learn additional skills for independent living, including:
Our individualized services are focused on increasing potential, minimizing reliance on services, maximizing independence and helping the individuals live in the most natural setting possible. We tailor our services to meet the needs and interests of each person and focus on helping them shape the direction of their own lives.
We also encourage individuals to do as much for themselves as possible, with the knowledge and comfort that our staff is there to support them whenever the need arises.
